April 2002 Dual Spiral Systems develops Automatic Spiral Generator (ASG)


		
		

		

		The Automatic Spiral Generator (ASG) is a spiral spline generation algorithm used to create the entire tool path for machining of the DSS die modules.


		The spline generator can be used to directly communicate a complete spiral 3D geometry directly into the CNC programmer so that no other drawings or numerical calculations have to be developed. The tool path coordinates are generated directly from the DSS simulator which models the plastic's flow within the die channels.


		Engineering time accounts for a significant component of the price of a die. The ASG not only reduces the engineering and design time by 75% but also eliminates the opportunity for the introduction of human error into the drawing process.
